Extra light rail services will run on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holiday Monday during the Vivid Festival (from Friday 24 May to Saturday 15 June), with extended services until midnight.

This forms part of the support that Transport for NSW and Transdev Sydney Light Rail provides to increase public transport to and from the city, as road closures and parking restrictions will be in place throughout the city each Vivid night and events attendees are encouraged to leave their car at home.

Services will run every 12 minutes from 7pm on Friday nights, and from 5pm on weekends (including the public holiday Monday).

Customers are reminded to allow plenty of additional travel time as services between Central and Pyrmont Bay will be very busy, particularly on the weekends, as large crowds travel to the Vivid Darling Harbour precincts. Vivid attendees are encouraged to walk between Central and Darling Harbour when possible.

Trackwork reminder:

Between 11pm Monday 27 May and 6am Friday 31 May, and between 11pm Monday 3 June and 6am Friday 7 June, buses will replace nightly light rail services to allow for essential construction work to take place on the future CBD & South East Light Rail.

Allow extra travel time, check travel alerts for light rail service disruption updates including replacement bus stop locations, and plan your light rail or replacement bus trip ahead using the Trip Planner.
